Students should not antagonize othersBrandon Viamontes letter brought up an old memory of the first grade. I was jealous of my brothers Underoos, so I stole one and wore it to school. That afternoon someone pulled down my pants, and everyone saw I was wearing boys underwear. The kids made fun of me, saying I was too poor to afford my own clothes (never mind my dad being an attorney, NO I wore boys briefs). In middle school and high school, things got worse. From being locked inside a tuba case, to being featured on a "lost dog, please dont return" poster, my life was hell. People try to blame parents and music for school shootings, but its other kids. Not a week went by in high school where I didnt fantasize about strangling someone with my wallet chain. Even in college, people STILL make fun of me because they think I cant afford Abercrombie clothes. Its not so much I cant, its that I wouldnt be caught dead wearing them. Id rather spend my money on Ozzfest or Warped Tour, donate it or burn it before cooperation junkies got their claws on it. JUST LEAVE US ALONE. Does it make you a better person knowing you drive us toward suicide? Does it make you happy when you call us losers? The people who ridicule us are the losers. Shoot me the day I sport Abercrombie gear; Ill keep my wallet chain and 7-year-old Vans. And if you think our music is evil, its a sanctuary that assures me Im not the only one who doesnt fit in. We happy with who we are; STOP TRYING to take that away from us. In the words of KoRn, "Who gives a [expletive deleted] if my life sucks? I just know one thing; I wont give up."
