Purdue needs to address abuse of computer rightsI am writing about my recent experience while at the Humanities, Social Science and Education Library. I was with my husband, who is African American, and a man came in and sat right next to us. He was obviously not a Purdue student. He proceeded to make comments under his breath and then opened up a Ku Klux Klan Web site. When we went up to a staff member we were told they were sorry but they had to protect his freedom of speech. What about our rights as Purdue students to not be "attacked" on campus with his hatred? Purdue University needs to address the countless people that misuse the computers on campus that are not students and abuse their "right" to be in campus/academic libraries.
