Receipts should omit credit card informationNowadays, a person doesn't need to carry cash at all. Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere, and using a credit card responsibly is a good way to create a credit history. Carrying plastic also eliminates the need to carry around cash that can be stolen or lost. The problem with credit cards is that if someone finds out the credit card number and the expiration date, he/she can do some major damage. I was shocked to find that both the receipts in the Purdue Memorial Union food court have both my credit card number in full and the expiration date. I am writing this letter so students will be aware, and so the food court might consider changing its practices. I have already mentioned this problem to a cashier and he told me that he would tell his manager, but no changes have been made. Benjamin Park Graduate Student |
