Board of trustees to discuss
plan
From Staff Reports
Purdue's board of trustees will meet Friday morning
to discuss a milestone for the University the strategic plan.
Various University employees from West Lafayette
and each regional campus have worked on the plan, which will lay out
Purdue's future for the next five years. The plan's theme is preeminence
and through its implementation, President Martin Jischke hopes to take
the University to the next level.
The board of trustees will discuss the final draft
of the plan and then vote to accept or reject it at 9 a.m. Friday in
Stewart Center, Room 326. If accepted, the plan will be implemented
immediately.
The plan is available on the Internet through links
established on Purdue's homepage, www.purdue.edu.
Also on the board's agenda is an item requesting
to rename the department of health, kinesiology and leisure studies
and to create a posthumous bachelor of arts degree. The board will also
hear requests to hire architects for two University projects
a biosciences/engineering facility and the Center for Entrepreneurship.
The meeting is open for the public to attend.
