Former department head dies
from heart disease

Frank Wilson, 60, former head of political science,
died Friday at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis following a long
bout with heart disease.
Wilson joined the political science faculty in
1971 and was department head from 1988 to 2000. He authored many scholarly
publications on the French political environment and wrote textbooks.
He received the Humanities, Social Science and
Education Excellence in Teaching Award in 1974 and was a faculty fellow
for 20 years. He received the Frederick L. Hovde Award in 1989.
The visitation will be held from 6 to 9 tonight
at Soller-Baker Funeral Homes' West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore
Parkway. The service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in West Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the
Indiana Organ Procurement Organization, 429 N. Pennsylvania St., Suite
