Survey results show faculty satisfactionBy Dave Stephens The majority of Purdue professors are satisfied with their jobs. That is the result of the first Purdue University Faculty Survey, an Internet survey filled out by more than 800 full and assistant professors on campus. The results of the survey, which asked questions about the Purdue work environment and job satisfaction, have been compiled in hard copy form and submitted to various Purdue officials and administrators; the results should be posted online soon.
Many factors lead to ticket decreaseBy Kurt Esposito Since August, students have been able to use garage-specific permits. Since July, the number of parking tickets issued has decreased a change that may or may not be attributed to the new permits. "There has been a slight decrease. It's tough to say if that will continue through the year," said Mike Jasper, parking facilities manager. From July through October about 16,700 tickets were issued. During the same time last year about 19,700 were issued.
Muslims face difficulties on RamahdanBy Jon Gilman Ashfaqur Rahman Khan remembers how he felt during his first weeks at Purdue. The sophomore in the Schools of Engineering had traveled here from his home in the United Arab Emirates. He found it difficult to be thousands of miles away from his family and to resist the urge to party every night. His solution was to delve deeper into his spirituality and thus develop a regular routine in order to focus on his studies. |
