Misunderstanding aggravates studentAll right, OBVIOUSLY theres been a misunderstanding! First, Id like to get some things straight. I DONT worship Satan. I dont blame Brandon Viamonte for my problems (His letter was an introductory sentence. Dont read any deeper than that). Finally, Im a very happy person! I LIKE being me! After a few nasty replies and several threatening emails, it hit me. SOMEHOW, in my letter that more or less said, "be nice," I have offended people. This was a shocker. I didnt ask you to love everyone, or even to be nice to him or her! All I asked was for people NOT TO GO OUT OF THIER WAY TO BE MEAN! How is this offensive? So many people are rude, inconsiderate and downright mean for no reason! They have this complex to NOT respect ANYONE unless they prove themselves worthy. This should not be the case. Live and let live. DONT BE A JERK. When you call people names and throw them around it hurts! Whats the point of this? Does it "cramp your style" to let those different from you exist happily? Let us be who we want to be, and we will do the same. I enjoy baggy pants, band t-shirts, wallet chains and spiky collars! I cant give you a REASON why, but they make me feel good about myself. Being different is awesome! To look in the mirror and realize I am the only one like me is the greatest feeling in the world! We werent meant to all be the same. Let people be different! Let them be themselves! Let them be happy! Is that too much to ask? In the words of Green Day, "I want to be the minority! I dont need your authority! Down with the moral majority, cause I wanna be the minority!" Tory Fickle Sophomore, School of Agriculture |
