Fair weather fans have no place at UniversityEven though the football team won this weekend, I was still disappointed. I wasn't disappointed in the way the team played, but rather in our supposed fans. It amazes me that people who are supposed to be supporters of our team can be so fickle. We lose two games and all of a sudden Brandon Hance is the most hated person on campus. I don't get it. How can we expect him to play well when we are booing him off the field? We should show support regardless. Confidence is a big part of sports, and when your own crowd is against you it is hard to be confident. I'm not saying that Kyle Orton shouldn't get the opportunity to play when things aren't going right, but we as fans need to support whoever the coaches put in. This situation isn't the first time this has happened either. Our fans are known for this behavior. Just last year Travis Dorsch was treated the same way. Now look, he is everyone's favorite player. All I'm saying is that we need to quit being "fair weather" fans. That is the easy thing to do. I say either support the team or don't even bother going to the games.
