This Saturday, major Argentinean fashion designer "Gaby" will be showcasing her new collection at Ivy Tech's Latino Festival.

Gabriela Frezza is a major player in the Midwest fashion industry. Her line, Gaby Couture, was a crowd favorite during Midwest Fashion Week in March. Frezza's designs have been published in the Indianapolis Recorder, Bella Magazine, NUVO and more.

According to Daniela Frezza, Gabriela Frezza's marketing manager, the designer is looking forward to continuing her marketing in bigger cities, as well as letting Lafayette know there is talent in Indiana.

Gabriela Frezza, who grew up in Argentina, began creating her own clothing at an early age. She then moved to New York City, where she worked for several European designers before moving to the Midwest.

"Gaby's designs are influenced by her travels," Daniela Frezza said.

Jeffrey Benjamin, a Purdue alumnus who recently graduated, will also be featured in the show. Benjamin's unique and innovative designs have created a following among the young and modern. His creations were featured in fashion shows in Miami, Chicago and Indiana. Benjamin will be moving to Chicago in the fall to work for a jewelry designer, as well as other fashion companies.

"I'm really excited about this opportunity because Gaby Couture is really well-known in South America. This fashion show opens up new doors for me," Benjamin said.

The fashion show will be held Saturday in the Ivy Tech auditorium in Lafayette. The event is open to the public.
