Freshman outside hitter Mandy Nichols has left the Purdue volleyball team, the team said in a statement Wednesday.
According to a release, Nichols left the team for personal reasons.
“We wish Mandy well and thank her for her contributions to the team the past two years,” coach Dave Shondell said in a release. “Mandy needs to do what is best for herself at this time and, unfortunately, that means time away from our team.”
Nichols came to Purdue in 2007 from Greenwood, Ind., but redshirted the season because of foot injuries. This year, Nichols appeared in 25 of the team’s 26 matches, including six starts. She averaged 1.59 digs per set and tallied 47 kills and 11 blocks.
