Bill Ayers to speak at Purdue

William "Bill" Ayers will participate in an educational forum Sept 24 at Purdue University.
The forum, called "Inequality and Education: The Challenge for Urban Schools," will take place at 7 p.m. in Lawson Hall, Room 1142. It is sponsored by the Department of Sociology.
Ayers is a distinguished professor of education and senior university scholar at the University of Illinois in Chicago. In the 1970s, Ayers was an open opponent of the Vietnam War and co-founder of the radical protest group Weather Underground.
President Barack Obama's possible friendship with Ayers was a point of contention in last year's presidential race.
