That really doesn't fit me at all. . . I'd be much more comfortable staring out the window of the EIC's office waxing nostalgic at the sight of the University Church Steeple through the snow.

But I'll be quite interested to see to what degree this forum takes off. I've caught up with some of my fellow alumni (note proper use of the plural, Mr. Carl) on FaceBook, but think it's cool to have a spot for us at the 'Ponent itself. I'm curious to see what types of posts show up, and am loathe to start it by simply listing the family/career details that I would expect to see on other similar sites.

I have my doubts that Mr. Pat has any interest in the activities or ages of any of "those little bastards" I may have running about, so I'll let someone else check in with something interesting to say.

Hi Tim... You may or may not remember me, but you deserve your share of credit/blame for giving me my start in journalism! You hired me in the fall of 1990 as a staff writer, and I eventually became a staff editor for a few years before I graduated in '94... I now cover the U.S. Senate, for a D.C.-based political newspaper called The Hill (www.thehill.com). I remember you as a righteous dude in those misty, rose-colored days of yore... It's good to hear from you and I'm glad the powers-that-be established this site. I reconnected with one or two Exponent alumni on Facebook too, but not many. I hope you're well. Take care out there.

J.T.!
You obviously made much more practical use of your days at the Asst. Region/World Desk than I did! Covering politics in DC is a bit of a step up from those late-night election cycles waiting for Riehle and Margerum (if I spelled either of those right, I'll flip) to cement their hold on city politics.

I'm teaching H.S in NW Indiana, and occasionally a former student of mine crosses the threshold for Mr.s Carl and Pat to educate. Nice hearing from you!

Of course you started this, Timmy. You've always been a trailblazer.
