Redshirt sophomore guard Anthony Johnson has requested and been granted a release from his scholarship, Purdue head men's basketball coach Matt Painter announced Monday.
"Anthony has been a valued member of our program over the last three years," Painter said. "We wish him nothing but the best as he moves into the next chapter of his career."
The Chicago native played in 68 games for the Boilermakers, averaging 5.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest.
Johnson is the third Purdue basketball player to transfer in the last week along with forward Jacob Lawson and center Sandi Marcius.
