Organizers of the School of Management Spring Career Fair encourage students to see the fair as a way to kick off the job-hunting season.
The career fair started nearly 20 years ago to help business students develop connections with potential employers. Members of the School of Management Employers Forum organized the entire fair.
Erik Props, associate director for Career Services, said that being connected to companies is very important in this economy.
“We have seen a significant increase in the number of companies attending the fair,” said Props. “The demand is high for these students.”
Pablo Puente, School of Management Employers Forum
president, said that a record-breaking 110 companies will be offering internships, co-ops and careers to the students today.
“I have seen people get offered not only interviews, but positions in companies,” said Puente. “The worst case scenario would be that they say no – but then the companies will remember you the next year. I think that everyone should go out and try their best to make connections.”
