Early Tuesday evening, the Boilermaker Special was in a minor accident as it ran into the rear end of a police car.

According to a West Lafayette police officer, the cruiser was located in the eastbound lane of Wood Street, east of the South Chauncey intersection. The police vehicle had its emergency lights lit and an officer was investigating another accident when the car was hit by the Special.

No injuries have been reported and according to Reamer Club member Cory Brewer, the Special is fine and only has "one scratch" on the cow catcher (the pointed cone on the front of the vehicle).

The driver of the Boilermaker Special said as she turned onto Wood Street, the smokestack of her vehicle blocked her view of police car.

The police car had damage to the left rear end of the car. The bumper and fender were cracked and pieces broken.
