A chilly weekend is predicted for Grand Prix, although the rain should lessen.
Local meteorologist Chad Evans predicts breezy weather in the 50s for most of the weekend. Purdue has not seen a Grand Prix weekend with temperatures in the 70s since 2010.
“It won’t be the warmest Grand Prix,” said Evans.
Friday night Evans believes there will be some light rain with a high of 60.
“You’ll have to dodge a few showers tomorrow,” said Evans.
Race day on Saturday should start out pretty cold with temperatures close to freezing in the morning. By the afternoon, weather is expected to be fairly breezy, partly cloudy and around 50 degrees.
Evans says students attending the race and partaking in other outside activities will be most comfortable in a sweatshirt or hoodie.
