The Boiler Market restaurant will not be returning this August.
The venue was supposed to close on April 28 and reopen with new ownership on Aug. 1, according to the manager of the restaurant Abe Honegger.
Honegger made the announcement before Grand Prix Week during the Campus Community Bar Retail Coalition meeting at the Neon Cactus. However, on Monday, Susie Budreau, property manager at Paradigm Properties, said the transition has fallen through.
"Things didn't go as planned," Budreau said. "Now we're seeking Plan B."
Budreau said it will be difficult to establish a new business before the school year starts because she wants the establishment to fit everyone's needs in the community.
"We're being very particular in what goes in that location," she said. "We would love it to run in a similar fashion. We also want to make sure it's going to be a good neighbor."
The location is also quite popular and accessible, said Doug Anderson of Candor Realty, who is renting the property.
"I can't imagine it sitting (empty) very long," Anderson said. "It's a great property."
Budreau said there could be potential to extend the operating hours from 10 p.m. until 11 p.m. on weekdays, but "we don't want it to go much later than that."
