Lafayette and Purdue police investigators traveled to Missouri this weekend to question two men about Wade Steffey’s disappearance.
The two men, David Bradley, 27, and Jeffrey Thurman, 21, both of Park Hills, Mo., are being charged in the death of a Missouri man and were believed to have been in the Lafayette area on Jan. 13 when Steffey, a freshman in the College of Technology, went missing.
“As a result of the information they gathered from the Missouri investigators and interviews with the suspects, police do not believe these two men had anything to do with Wade’s disappearance, but they are following every lead,†said Jeanne Norberg, Purdue spokesperson, in a press release. “Police have requested DNA samples from the two Missouri suspects, just in case.â€
A former FBI agent and FBI profiler, who is an expert in cases such as this, are now on campus to assist in Steffey’s search. They are both reitred FBI agents.
Police are urging anyone who was in the Tower Acres area from midnight to 3 a.m. on Jan. 13 to contact Purdue police at 765-494-8221.
