‘Project Move Out’ turns garbage into donations

While packing up to go home, students can also help low-income families in the Lafayette community.

The Boiler Volunteer Network is sponsoring "Project Move Out," an event that is taking place next week from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on May 7 and May 8. Students can donate second-hand goods in the Armory and participating residence halls.

This year, the City of Lafayette is in need of more supplies and items from Purdue students.

Indiana ranked as the most economically competitive state because it has attracted lots of new employers.

According to an article in Site Selection magazine, more jobs came to Indiana because the state eliminated the inventory tax, increased the research and development tax credit and invested $75 million in technology parks.

"We are the only state to make these kinds of decisions — to go on offense instead of cutting back in those areas," said Gov. Joe Kernan. "We decided our future was in making investments as opposed to reversing course, and we are seeing the results in our job growth numbers."

Crazy Monkeys ‘mockumentary’ shows other side of improv life

The Crazy Monkeys improvisation group will perform its last show of the semester and unveil its self-produced mockumentary at 8 p.m. Friday.

The show is free and will take place in the North Ballroom of the Purdue Memorial Union.

The night will begin with the viewing of the mockumentary, which is filmed like a documentary but based on fake events and treats them as if they were "100 percent real," said Adam Briner, senior in the School of Liberal Arts.
