Forum provides information about election

From Staff Reports

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is holding a forum tonight to provide information on the presidential election.

Bobby Lassiter, the master of ceremonies for the event, said there will be information about the election process, each candidate and hot campaign topics. Representatives for Sen. John Kerry and President Bush will present the candidates’ stances on each issue.

Lassiter, a senior in the School of Management, said voting is important this year.

"In order to make a responsible decision, you have to be informed or aware of the issues surrounding the candidates," Lassiter said. "We hope to take away the excuse that ‘I can’t vote because I don’t know the issues.’"

If time allows, there will be an open discussion and an opportunity for people to register to vote.

The forum will be at 7 p.m. in Matthews Room 210.
