The Purdue baseball team will be playing all of its home games at Lambert Field for the 47th straight season due to delays in the construction of Alexander Field.

Alexander Field, located near Cherry Lane and McCormick Road, will seat 1,500 with room to expand to 2,500. Lambert Field’s capacity is 1,100.

The $10.3 million baseball stadium is part of the $121 million Mackey Complex/Northwest Site master plan that was approved in 2007. The Northwest Site also includes the cross country course, soccer complex and tennis facility.

The project is being financed by fund raising, department funds and revenue received from the Big Ten Network in addition to other conference television agreements. Purdue’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is self-supporting and receives no tax dollars or university funding.

Lambert Field will be removed to make room for additional parking for the renovated Student Fitness and Wellness Center.
