Purdue head football coach Danny Hope said a win against Wisconsin Saturday would be a springboard for the program if the team won, but it wouldn’t be the end of the season if lost.
“I would hate to think that any particular game makes or breaks a whole season,” Hope said. “The magnitude of the game and the opportunity is huge. We all recognize that. A win this Saturday would be huge for our football team but only if we continue to follow it up with a win next Saturday.”
Bolden could see time vs. Wisconsin:
“I think that Ralph probably could have helped us some this past Saturday and was maybe ready this past Saturday, but we are a lot more comfortable about playing Ralph this weekend,” Hope said. “I think Ralph is more comfortable.”
Hope responds to fans who want to see Robert Marve with more playing time:
“I understand people and that helps me understand why they would want Robert Marve out there,” Hope said. “He has a fantastic arm and has some big play potential and those are the things that stick out in your mind as a natural response. It’s a defense mechanism called repression.
“I’m not perplexed as to why some of the fan base would prefer Robert Marve,” Hope said. “That’s a tendency on a national level. The number two quarterback is always the favorite.”
