Back in March, Purdue President Mitch Daniels unveiled plans to honor superfan Tyler Trent with a memorial outside Ross-Ade Stadium.
Construction crews began working July 8 on what will be called the Tyler Trent Student Gate, the spot where Trent famously camped out before football games, according to the Purdue football Twitter account.
Crews have made significant progress on the gate, which appears to be almost done, as the archway itself is installed and covered.
The unveiling and dedication of the Tyler Trent Student Gate will take place on the morning of the first home game of 2019, which will be on Sept. 7 against Vanderbilt.
Other construction on the stadium includes a ribbon scoreboard crews recently began installing in the north endzone.
This project is also expected to be completed by the 2019 opening game at Ross-Ade on Sept. 7.
