Internet Technology at Purdue warns students to be wary of potential scam emails.

The Purdue University Police Department is investigating a reported armed robbery on the 100 block of Pierce Street, according to a Purdue ALERT.

The robbery may be linked to two other robberies— one by River Market apartments in West Lafayette, and another off Greenbush Street in Lafayette —both of which occurred within span of a couple hours of Purdue police's initial report, Captain Song Kang said via phone.

In the initial report, two people said their cell phones and wallets stolen, according to a Purdue alert email. The incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

The email said the suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s, about 5 feet and 10 inches tall with scruffy facial hair and wearing a black hoodie and pants.

He reportedly fled on foot toward Wood Street Parking Garage. Police advised to avoid the area.
