The Boilermakers rocked the Tennessee Volunteers on Thursday night in Louisville, Kentucky, in their Sweet 16 game, and the internet noticed.

Twitter users took heart in and bemoaned Purdue's success, as a constant stream of tweets mentioned everything from the Boilermakers' victory to coaches' strategies to sophomore center Matt Haarms' hair.

One common theme Twitter users discussed was Haarms' long hair, as the player is known for often adjusting it throughout games on the court.

During the game, former Purdue player Vincent Edwards chimed in on the Twitter-sphere.

Other fans took pride in the Boilermakers' performance around halftime.

When Purdue's lead started to shrink minutes before regulation time ended, however, spectators began fretting on social media.

Spectators rejoiced after the game the Edwards free throw that sent the game into overtime.

Overtime proved to be fruitful for the Boilermakers: They won 99-94, a victory that will send them to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2000.
