The Bangladeshi Student Association of Purdue is raising money to support recent flooding affecting the people of Bangladesh.
According to Md Rejaul Hoq, a graduate student who is the group's publicity chairman, millions of lives have been displaced by recent floods in Bangladesh, and many are in urgent need of food and supplies.
"Our goal is to raise $5,000 to buy critical supplies and distribute aid," he wrote in an email and on the Facebook fundraising page that was set up Friday. "Your donation will provide much-needed relief for those displaced by the flood."
Almost $600 had been raised by Tuesday afternoon. The page is called BDSA Purdue Flood Relief Effort 2017.
