Purdue Symphony Orchestra entertains full-house crowd

The Purdue Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Band performs at Loeb Playhouse.

Purdue Bands and Orchestras is set to move out of its nearly 80-year-old space in Elliott Hall of Music in late 2021.

The Board of Trustees approved a new Bands and Orchestras building on the southeast corner of Third and Russell streets, Michael Cline, senior vice president for administrative operations, said in the trustees meeting Friday morning.

Purdue Bands and Orchestras has grown 65% since 2013, he said.

Cline said the project's expected cost is $20 million, with construction starting in September 2020 and ending in September 2021.
