A cyclist was transported to the hospital after colliding with a blue Ford SUV at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
"Both had green lights," Purdue University Police Department Capt. Song Kang said in a phone call, clarifying that both the bicycle and SUV technically had the right-of-way at the intersection of Russell Street and Stadium Avenue.
The bicycle was heading south on Russell Street while the vehicle was driving northward on the same street. After taking a left turn at the intersection, the SUV hit the cyclist. The cyclist was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both the cyclist and driver were students, according to Kang.
