Students gathered at Celery Bog on Sunday afternoon to skate on the frozen water. Many areas at the bog have been shoveled off to create makeshift skating rinks.
Brian Anderson, a junior in Civil Engineering from Middletown, New Jersey, brought a small net, along with a hockey stick and some skates, to Celery Bog. He was joined by Jeremy Ahn and Jack McCormick, both of whom are juniors in professional flight.
Ahn said he was comfortable being out on the ice since temperatures have remained below freezing for about a week. The friends decided to skate on the ice at Celery Bog after driving over the bridge every day and seeing other skaters, Anderson said.Â
