The Purdue Student Union Board's Spirits and Traditions committee held the annual lighting of the Christmas tree Tuesday night. The event featured a performance by the Purdue Acabellas and cookie decorating for students and families. The 27-foot-tall blue spruce tree was donated by the Berenda family, who was in attendance for the lighting. The tree was officially lit by Beth McCuskey, vice provost for student life, and will remain on the Union's first floor until Dec. 18. Holiday performances sponsored by PSUB will take place around the tree from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
