2/28/18 Chauncey, Hotbox Pizza

Hotbox Pizza will relocate a block further north over the summer, according to owner Gabe Connell.

Hotbox Pizza plans to relocate to the Hi Vine Apartments complex over the summer, according to owner Gabe Connell.

"It will be a very different store than what we're currently in," he said over the phone, though he added that it will still look and feel like a Hotbox store.

Connell said he is concerned the store will receive less traffic after it moves, but is hopeful people will realize it is only a block away from its current location. He said it will still deliver to customers.

The decision to move is due to city plans to redevelop Chauncey Hill Mall, he said. West Lafayette Director of Development Erik Carlson said in August the city is waiting on development company Trinitas Ventures after the city rejected its original plan, which included the development of more student housing.

Earlier this semester, Discount Den closed its Chauncey Hill Mall doors and moved to a new location on Stadium Avenue in anticipation of plans to redevelop the mall.
