After announcing its relocation intentions earlier this year, the Discount Den is open for business at 618 W. Stadium Ave. as of Thursday, according to co-owner Matt Garofalo.

Watching the iconic Discount Den sign be removed early Thursday morning "was like watching the scene in "Top Gun" where Goose dies," he said in an email.

"Preparations for the Stadium Avenue location started earlier this past summer," Garofalo said. "While the new Stadium Avenue location is open for business, we are still settling in and unpacking the key items that make the Den, "The Den," such as the "Wall of Shame," the famous Den Pop recipes, the 80s/90s music posters, and the infamous Warning Sign on the front door. Other than getting fully settled in, we are stocking up for game days since we'll be a short leap from Ross-Ade and the go-to-spot for snacks, drinks, and Purdue apparel."

The official "grand opening ceremony" will be held on Oct. 11, per Garofalo.
