A man reportedly robbed Centier Bank in Lafayette on South Street and Executive Drive Monday afternoon, police say.

The Lafayette Police Department received a call from a bank employee around noon Monday, according to Sergeant Mike Brown in a phone interview. A man wearing a black sock hat and sunglasses allegedly displayed a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

No shots were fired and no one was harmed, according to an LPD press release.

The press release says a bag containing cash was found along the roadway near the Sagamore Parkway and Greenbush Street intersection, which police believe may be related to the robbery.

Police are actively looking for the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous.
