The Purdue volleyball team improves to 5-4 on the season after defeating Northwestern, 3-0, on Friday night, the first of two matches over the weekend. After a slow 25-20 start, Purdue dominated the next two sets, winning 25-15 and 25-14. Purdue finished the game with a 26.4% hitting percentage and held Northwestern to a -5% hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Caityln Newton lead Purdue with 14 of its 33 kills while redshirt junior Hayley Bush lead the Boilers with 24 assists. Purdue takes on Northwestern for the second time Saturday at 7 p.m. The matchup will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
