The Purdue women’s basketball team (3-1) lost to Dayton (3-1) Saturday night at Mackey Arena, 78-62. Purdue stayed close through the first two quarters, trailing by 2 points at halftime, 33-31. However, Purdue was outscored by 10 in the  third quarter, 23-13, and four more in the fourth, 22-18.

Purdue’s offense struggled to make shots, shooting only 38.5%, compared to Dayton at 47.5%. The offense struggled to capitalize on turnovers, scoring just 8 points off its 14 turnovers, compared to Dayton’s 14 points on 15 turnovers. Purdue struggled throughout the game to collect rebounds, with 9 offensive rebounds and 21 defensive rebounds. Dayton amassed 15 offensive rebounds and 26 defensive rebounds. Purdue returns to Mackey Arena Monday against Marshall (3-0).
