The Purdue women's basketball team, which had fallen behind by 12 at halftime, whittled the margin to a single point near the end of the third quarter. However, the Boilermakers (5-3, 2-2) failed to beat visiting No. 25 Michigan State Sunday in Mackey Arena, 71-64. Purdue had one player in double figures – Kayana Traylor with 16 points on 3 of 5 field goal shooting and 10 of 13 at the free throw line. The Spartans (8-0, 3-0) were led by Nia Clouden with 23 points.
