Purdue’s men’s basketball team defeated Wright State 96-52, Tuesday night in Mackey Arena. After leading by 34 points after the first half, Purdue continued to extend its lead throughout the rest of the game. Purdue shot 52.2% from the floor and 39.3% on 3-pointers. 

  • Senior forward Trevion Williams led the team in both points and rebounds, 20 points and 13 rebounds. Williams also surpassed 1,000 career points during the game.

  • Sophomore center Zach Edey finished second to Williams with 18 points and 12 rebounds. 

  • Sophomore guard Brandon Newman made five consecutive 3-pointers during the middle of the second half.

The Boilers return to action at 4 p.m., Saturday when they play No. 18 North Carolina (2-0) at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament in Uncasville, Connecticut. The game will be aired by ESPNews.
