The Purdue women’s tennis team has the opportunity to sweep its final weekend of play when they host Maryland and Rutgers this weekend.
The Boilermakers (8-12, 3-6 Big Ten), who have won three of their last four matches, play host to the Terrapins (3-16, 1-8), who have lost five of their last six matches, and the Scarlet Knights (9-10, 1-8), who have lost nine straight matches.
After dropping six consecutive singles matches, Silvia Ambrosio, ranked No. 39 nationally in singles, has turned around play and won five straight, which includes downing No. 54 ranked Isabelle Boulais of Ohio State, which is ranked No. 21 in the country. The senior has played at the one position every match she’s played for the entire season.
Purdue hosts Maryland for the first match of the weekend at noon on Saturday. Rutgers then comes to town for the season finale for both teams at noon on Sunday. Both matches will be at Schwartz Tennis Center and admission is free.
