Purdue President Mitch Daniels will announce on Wednesday that Purdue will honor the late Tyler Trent, the alumnus and former Exponent columnist, with a memorial somewhere on campus.
The announcement will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday outside of Gate E at Ross-Ade Stadium. In case of inclement weather, those coming have been told that the announcement will take place inside the Football Performance Complex instead.
Following Trent’s passing in January, Purdue students, fans and alumni petitioned to add a memorial dedicated to Trent at Purdue. The petitions resonated with Daniels and other Purdue leaders, and they have decided to memorialize Trent on campus.
Ross-Ade Brigade, the student fan section at football games, received an email inviting the members to the announcement.
There is currently no public information regarding details of the memorial, according to university spokesperson Tim Doty.
