In its fifth tournament of the season, Purdue men’s golf found its way to the first victory of 2018 despite starting the last round back 11 strokes.
Playing at the Chatham Hills Collegiate Invitational in Westfield, Indiana, the Boilers sat tied for third with Indiana after the first round and dropped into fourth place after the second round.
During the final round, the team paved the comeback early on the back nine and held the lead on the front nine for a two-shot team win, finishing 18-under par, 846.
Individually, Purdue had two golfers finish in the top-10, as sophomore Cole Bradley finished third in the field at 10-under par, 206, his second straight top-10 finish, while senior Timmy Hildebrand finished tied for sixth at 3-under par, 213, his fourth-straight top-10 finish of the season.
The Boilers will be on island time on Oct. 28-30, as they travel to Hawaii for the Warrior Makai Invitational.
