A Purdue alumnus took home a 12th place finish in the men's shot put final in Tokyo late last night.
Chukwuebuka Enekwechi's final throw was 19.74 meters. His second attempt was 18.87 meters and Enekwechi fouled on his first attempt.
This was Enekwechi's first Olympics and he competed for Nigeria. He graduated from Purdue in 2016 and currently serves as the volunteer assistant coach.
In the qualifying round Enekwechi threw 21.16 meters to finish seventh overall and fourth in Group B.
