The soccer team upset Iowa, 1-0, on Sunday at Folk Field. Iowa went into the game 9-0 while Purdue was 5-2-1, but when the game ended, Purdue advanced to 2-0 in conference play. The Boilermaker defense, led by sophomore goalie Marisa Bova, paved the way for Purdue, recording its sixth shutout. Bova finished with three saves and stopped seven corner kicks with the help of the defense. Freshman Sydney Sparks scored the lone goal of the game two minutes into the second half. Before the game, the six seniors were honored during senior ceremonies.
